St Bart’s

Tropical Resort

These prefabricated CLT and Glulam resort structures were designed and supplied to provide resistance to a direct hit from a hurricane. Within a year of completion, the structures were hit by 185 mph Hurricane Irma. Unlike many of other buildings on the Island, all the structures remained standing with only superficial damage to facias, facade, etc.  and served as a refuge after the storm.  This is an excellent reference for Hurricane performance for mass timber.
